Rules & Youth Safety
How we protect young athletes and comply with youth-sport, privacy, and child-safety guidelines.
What we publish — and what we never do
- Stats & results only. Public profiles show on-court performance — name, team, position, and game stats. That is the same information printed in a box score or a program.
- No contact information. We never publish a minor's home address, phone number, email, class schedule, or anything that could be used to locate or contact a young athlete off the court.
- No precise location. We show the school or club a team represents, not where any individual lives or trains.
Accounts, age & parental consent
- Accounts are intended for athletes 13 and older, coaches, officials, and parents — consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- A child under 13 should not create an account. A parent or coach may maintain a stats-only profile on a young athlete's behalf, with no login and no personal contact details.
- Coach, official, and referee accounts are reviewed and approved by an administrator or a verified peer before they can manage teams or stats.
Code of conduct
- Report only accurate stats and results — falsified data may be removed.
- No harassment, bullying, or targeting of athletes, officials, or opponents. Accounts that do so are suspended.
- Officials record only what happened on the court (score, subs, timeouts) — never private notes about individuals.
Compliance & safe-sport guidelines
v-ball.net is built to align with federal and state youth-sport protections, including the U.S. Center for SafeSport standards, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and applicable state student-privacy laws. State athletic-association rules (such as eligibility and postseason classification) are reflected where they govern competition.
Request removal or a correction
A parent, guardian, athlete, coach, or school may ask us to correct or remove a profile or any specific information at any time. Contact safety@v-ball.net and we will respond promptly. You can also reach your team's coach or an administrator through the account tools.
